WRITING THE COLLEGE APPLICATION ESSAY

Every college applicant has a portfolio of grades, test scores, and activities, and the average admissions officer will read thousands of applications every fall. Write Well Studios offers one-on-one essay advising with Dr. Masiello, an Associate Professor in the English Department at Rutgers University. Sessions are designed to break the drafting process into manageable steps. Participants start by choosing an appropriate prompt, by assessing how they wish to narrate what makes them unique, and by selecting the topic that will best communicate who they are to a college admissions officer. Then writers move through the drafting process, where they will receive customized feedback focused on meaningful revision at every step.
